Great News & Changes for Atlanta Performance Volleyball

(October 16, 2017)

We are proud to announce that Cheryl Butler, Co-Director of the Sports Performance Volleyball Club (Aurora, IL.) will become Club Director & Master Coach for Atlanta Performance Volleyball (APVB) for the 2018 club season. Coach Butler will also be coaching the 18 Elite team for Atlanta Performance as well as running the training for all high school age teams. The Sports Performance Volleyball club, established in 1981, has won 86 Jr. National Championships and sent just under a thousand of its alumni on to play collegiate volleyball on scholarships valued at over $100,000,000 and is considered the most successful junior volleyball club in the history of junior volleyball.

Cheryl Butler: “I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with the APVB coaches and players. I was just in Atlanta this past weekend to run a series of clinics at APVB and the potential for greatness is off the charts and I cannot wait to get started! I want to do everything in my power to help the APVB coaches and players turn that potential into world class volleyball ability. I have no doubt that we are at the beginning of something very special in the Atlanta Performance Volleyball program. I love the potential of our staff and we have made some very positive changes to the program. Cathy Murray, our Youth Development Director is going to be a very special coach down the road and I have no doubt that the future APVB youth players will be the most technically sound players in the Southeast. Coach Joe Cummings has added Facility Coordinator to his title along with coaching in our high school age groups. Coach Shauntez Jennings will also be our new Administrative Associate. I look forward to working with the APVB staff for the upcoming season and I am very excited about getting the 2017-2018 club season started.
